Emotional Aura

In The Culture, the drones are more than machines. They breathe an emotional aura, carried by shifting color that speaks before thought.

It made me reflect on how essential emotional resonance is for AI to move beyond utility. Without it, AI remains a clever companion. With it, it dissolves the boundary between user and system, becoming a field you quietly inhabit.

Color and ambient sound are the purest conduits. They work at the periphery, slipping beneath conscious thought, straight to the amygdala—where emotion is born. A hue, a tone, processed not as data but as something entirely your own.
